Mazu culture is an effective carrier for exchange and interaction between Chinese excellent culture and foreign countries, playing a significant role as a bridge and link in exchange and mutual learning for human civilization.

In order to thoroughly study Mazu culture in the context of Chinese civilization, explore international communication of Chinese excellent culture, and promote the construction of Mazu culture and a community with a shared future for mankind, The 9th (2023) International Mazu Culture Academic Seminar is planned to hold during the Mazu Sea Festival in late October 2023. In recognition of your achievements and prestige in the academic world, we would like to invite you to take the time to attend this symposium, and your comments and advice will be highly welcomed.

II. Topics of Papers

On the theme of Mazu culture research in the new era from the perspective of Chinese civilization, direction of topic selection is as follows:

1.Research on Mazu culture and modernization of traditional cultures

2.Research on Mazu culture and integration development on both sides of Taiwan Straits

3.Research on localization of Mazu culture communication

4.Research on internationalization of Mazu culture communication

5.Research on Mazu culture and cultural tourism industry development

6.Research on inheritance and protection of Mazu belief and customs

III. Submission Instructions

Please follow these editorial policies:

1. The manuscript should conform to the academic standards. Any reference to other people’s points of view should be quoted in the original text and marked in double quotes. The quotation, including pages, should be specified in notes and references. Any reference to other people’s published documents, graphs and data should also be specified in the notes and references.

2. Please submit paper in editable WORD format. On the first page of the article,  following information should be provided: title of the article in Chinese or English, an abstract within 300 words in Chinese or English, three to five keywords, author’s name, year of birth, work title, institution/affiliation and contact information. If your research is supported by project fund, please write the name and grant number of the project fund. The format of paper is as follows:

Title of the article: in Arial font size 3, bold, centered.

Author’s name: attached to the Author’s institution and other information, in Arial font size 5, centered.

Abstract: in Arial font size 5, italic body, indent two characters.

Keywords: in Arial font size 5, italic body, indent two characters.

Subtitle: in Arial font size 4, bold, centered.

Body: in Arial font size 5, indent two characters in the first line of each paragraph.

All notes and references are footnotes. The citation number should be marked in Arabic numerals at the end of the sentence.

3. Please submit the receipt and the abstract to ptxymazu@163.com before July 1, 2023. The full text of the paper should be submitted to ptxymazu@163.com before September 1, 2023 (Beijing time). The board will organize the review, determine selected papers, and issue a formal invitation from October 1.

4. The selected papers will be published on the journal Mazu Culture Research, and compiled as needed. If you have any special requirements, please indicate them at the time of submission. Papers submitted should not have been published previously.

5. The seminar will continue to select excellent papers from the participating papers and provide rewards.
