School of Information Engineering, formerly known as Department of Electronic and Information Engineering (founded in 2003), now offers three main undergraduate programs: electronic information engineering, computer science and technology and communication engineering. The school now has over 1300 full-time students and a total number of 63 faculty members. Among these staff, there are 14 with senior professional titles, 39 intermediate professional titles , 42 master’s or doctor’s degree and one foreign expert. The school consists of the departments of Communication, Electronic and Information, Computer, Basic Teaching, Practical Teaching Center and others.

The school has taken a series of important projects, such as two national projects for teaching and research, more than 40 projects of provincial, municipal level or horizontal projects. About 300 papers have been published. Besides these, the school has been honored as National “May 4th Red Flag Youth League”, “May 4th Red Flag Youth League Branch” of Fujian Province and others.
