Since the establishment in more than 10 years ago, the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Medical Technology has been expanded, which now has two departments: the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences and the Department of Medical Technology, and 6 teaching research sections: Chemistry, Pharmacology, Pharmacy, Medical Imaging Diagnostics, Science of Imaging Technology and Ultrasonic Diagnostics, and 3 comprehensive laboratories: Chemistry, Pharmacy and Science of Medical Imaging. The school now has 22 full-time teachers, among whom are there 2 professors, 10 associate professors, 12 Ph.D. holders and masters. The number of teachers with professional titles and Ph.D. holders and masters takes up 54.5% of the number of full time teachers. The school has two programs on undergraduate level and junior college level: Pharmacy and Medical Imaging Technology. The school now has more than 800 students. Since the jointly operation of the school with Putian Municipal Government, the school has cultivated talents in medical imaging technology directly for health care units in townships and communities. The quality of talent cultivation has earned widespread acclaim. In the future, the school will further cultivate more high-quality and high-skilled talents relying on multi-discipline resources of science, engineering, liberal arts, management, medicine and education in Putian University.
